Comments : Where's J Giels? I was a sonarman but spent most my time in 1st. div and the best duty I had was working with the night backing crew. We had access to the beer supply in the refer decks that was kept for the mid east cruise! (Remember the two beers in Djibouti?) Many a night the salad had a 6 pack under the lettuce. I still keep in touch with Bill Womack (GM) in fact he was In Seattle last week and spent time @ our home. He's doing great and is a Granddad as am I, (9 times over).

My Wife and I took a Cruise to Alaska for one of our anniversary and I must admit It was a hell of allot more fun than the Middle East cruise of 79. I smoked a Cuban cigar on the fantail just for drill.
