| Comments : Greetings.... I have heard that sailors who were crew
members during the "Greek Years" (1972-1975) are entitled to wear a "unit
commendation" ribbon. Is this true... does anyone have a copy of the memo
or some kind of documentation?

Comments : My husgand was Master Chief Terry Patterson. He passed away
in 1986 from cancer.
But, I would love to hear from anyone who was on the Vreeland in
Greece. We didn't come over with the first batch but arrived in Feb 1972.
He was on the ship until he left it in Mayport to go to shore duty.
My son, Mike, rode the ship back from Greece, along with the captain's
sons.
I have fond memories of the people on the ship and would live to hear
from any of them.

Comments : WOW, I did not know the "Vree" had a web sight. I was notified about this by my old buddy and fellow OS Rob Montaudo who just got a fantastic job with the Disney Corp. I have enjoyed browsing through the old pictures and reading the log, it really brought back some great memories. Listen guys for those of you that are still upset with me for taking your women while in Italy and Panama please forgive me I just couldn’t help myself :) I hope this note finds all of you happy and well.
I also encourage any of you to email me some time to let me know how your life is going.
I never left FL and I reside in St Petersburg. I have been happily married for 11 years (Lynette) and have two children (Austin 8, Ciara 4. I stay very busy as you might imagine between the kids and my career. I am Sales and Marketing Mgr. for the east coast (Viking Corp) and enjoy it very much. I also enjoy the real estate market as well.
Again, I hope you are all doing great and thanks for the fond memories, I enjoyed and I am proud to have served my country with all of you.
